The Advantages On Making Use Of A No Needle Injector

By Jose Hughes

A needle free injection technology or NFIT is one type of a concept in which a medication or drug will be delivered to a persons skin by the use forces including Shock waves, electrophoresis, or Lorentz that will be propelling the drugs into the skin. The new technology does not benefit only the industries in pharma but benefits also the development and usefulness of it specifically for avoiding injuries and complications and also for the immunization programs.

These devices are also classified based on the load, delivery site, working, and drug delivery mechanism. To be able to administer a safe, effective, and stable dose using the no needle injector, there are three important components that need to consider and these are the shelf life, viscosity, and sterility of drug. NFIT devices are being manufactured in many different ways but the most common is the molding technique.

Unlike those traditional syringes, these devices have other forms which can be reusable. One of the purposes of this technology is to ensure a painless and efficient delivery of drugs. The following are the other important advantages of a needle free injection rather than a needle based syringe.

First is making the patients accept it more without complaints. Most patients have aversions on needles and they often think on physical discomforts that they may be experiencing. An advantage here is to reduce their feeling of discomfort and pain. And also, their experiences might be improved, thus, having the courage to push other patients in presenting themselves for therapy.

Second, it decreases any risks for the penetration of the veins and also the risks during the medication delivery to the desired area or site. The techniques that will be used for delivery using either syringes or needles is highly dependent on how needles are properly chosen. It will also be dependent upon the skills of the healthcare worker.

Third is improving the efficacy because of the different distribution ways of drugs. Typically, the syringes will deposit the drugs into the desired areas of the tissue. One disadvantage of this is there is a possibility that the depositing will be delayed because there is a lack of dispersion in the tissue, thus, it may require some additional injections to reach the other areas.

Fourth is to enhance the responses for vaccine immune. A needle free injection has an ability to enhance immunogenicity. The immunogenicity is consist of some commercial vaccines and vaccines that are still under some developments. Fifth is having the differences on the reliability and techniques used. It is said to be reliable because the depth for the penetration is determined easily than looking at it according to the technique for needle syringe.

Sixth is removing risks of these needles and contaminating the unintended sites. The safety of needles have become one of the highest concerns for the healthcare professionals, patients, and hospitals. Those healthcare professionals who already have experienced the injuries of needles have felt anxiety, emotional distress, and fear.

And lastly is the management of safety and waste of injection. Even if most healthcare systems are continuing to do a better and stronger training for people, challenges still cannot be avoided specifically for medical waste and contaminated needles. These problems are exposing the patients, communities, and health workers.
