When you're weight lifting to increase fitness, it is generally better to use free weights, not machines. You will see an increase in the amount of weight you can lift on the machine, but not quite as much strength as if you used free weights.



Don't push yourself too hard when you are working out. While pushing yourself to your limits can become a good thing, be aware of those limits. Build your strength and staying power up gradually. If you intend on exercising daily, pushing yourself too hard only serves to discourage and tire you out the next day.



Try your absolute best to push yourself each time you work out. Your body becomes acclimatized to the same workout programme repeatedly so attempt to switch it up and push yourself each time. Attempt to work out different body areas so you let others rest while building other areas.



Improving your strength is important while trying hard to get fit. Lifting big weights for shorter amounts of time is better for the muscle and it will reduce the likelihood of getting muscle strain. This applies to running too. Running tougher for shorter periods, with breaks, will help you get stronger in a safe and healthy way.



Learning how to cook good meals is an under-appreciated but crucial part of any fitness routine. Foods that come from the food store prepared or pre-cooked are packed with unhealthy additions like sodium and synthesised sweeteners. Learning to fix tasty, good meals using freshly sourced ingredients frees the fitness-minded chef from these unpleasant synthetic ingredients.



Avoid being too hard on yourself if you fail to meet a goal or take a day off. Everybody needs a break now and then. The most important thing is to not take one day's failure, as a justification to give up completely. Fitness is something you will be doing for the rest of your life. Just like cleaning your teeth, simply because you missed a day does not imply to you stop for ever and ever.



Choose firmly fitted shoes for climbing and fit them to your bare foot. Climbing is almost as much a case of feel as it is of strength and endurance. Tightly fitted shoes, shoes fitted so tightly in truth we won't nicely walk in them, allow us to climb better.



Being pro-active in your effort to staying fit is the key to success in maintaining wellness. Attempt to change up your routine, so you don't get burned out but do not skip too many days of not working out. If you skip more than a day, the possibilities are tougher for you to get back into the grove of working out.
